Jana M. U’Ren
I completed my BA in Biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2001 and Ph.D. in Plant Pathology and Microbiology at the University of Arizona in November 2011. Prior to starting graduate school, I worked as a technician with Dr. Brandon Gaut at the University of California-Irvine (2001-2002) and as a research specialist at the Center for Microbial Genetics and Genomics at Northern Arizona University with Dr. Paul Keim (2003-2006). As a graduate student I was supported as an IGERT fellow in Genomics at the UA (2006-2010). My dissertation research addressed the effects of abiotic and biotic factors on the diversity, abundance, and community composition of symbiotrophic fungi associated with diverse plant- and lichen hosts.
